Overview The Frances Lorrayne Layman papers contain items related to alumna Frances Lorrayne Layman's student life at West Chester State Teachers College between 1931 and 1935. Abstract Charlotte E. King (1922-1993) was a professor of elementary education at West Chester University from 1955 to 1983; she was named professor emeritus in 1984.  This collection includes materials that accompanied King in her career, including her essays, awards, speeches, newspaper articles, correspondence, tapes, and photographs.

Abstract Elmer E. Unger (1889-1991) was a physical education instructor in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas from 1915-1946.  One of his daughters, Josephine Unger, was a librarian at West Chester State Teachers College.  This collection includes materials Unger used throughout his career, including course guidelines, notes, and various exercises implemented in his curriculum.
